Re: SSD's

Got a rampant thirst for speed? Got enough money to buy yourself a hyper gaming pc? Then go and buy one- a hyper gaming pc that is, (and if its the drive speed you are after then get 24 Samsung SSD's in raid(!)) because this will cost the same amount as one when it comes out in summer/autumn 2009 (Over £10k). Its a PCI based Solid State Drive with a 1.28Tb capacity(PCI means it connects directly to the motherboard, no slow cables eating up your speed)

For the techies:
• Sustained read bandwidth: 1500 MB/sec (32k packet size)
• Sustained write bandwidth: 1400 MB/sec (32k packet size)
• Read IOPS: 186,000 (4k packet size)
• Write IOPS: 167,000 (4k packet size)
• Latency < 50 µsec

For the... 'normies?'
Its fast, faster than you will ever know.

Tramontana R-Editon

A 720HP diesel V12- Basically a Formula 1 racer crossed with a fighter jet, carbon fiber speed... bomb... thing... anyway, it has a 0-60 time of 3.6 seconds and its a real steal(ha!) at £300,000. Oh, and its street legal. Enjoy looking at the pretty pictures, because in the current economic climate its going to take a while to save up for this, but even if you do have enough to buy it only 12 will be made each year, get on the waiting list soon!

Super fast Solid State Drives [Samsung]

"We took 24 256GB Samsung MLC SSD's and put them in RAID to make this awesome computer! See how we did it, and what the results were!"
I'd eat a keyboard for this hardware!

Nom-Tastic! [Keyboards]

Yum!

Yekaterinburg, (Ekaterinburg) Russia, located south of the historical garden on the bank of the River Iset is a stone monument to the QWERTY keyboard. Personally I prefer this over Stonehenge, although it looks like they have been playing a little too much Tetris on this one, the arrow keys look a bit worn… get it? Tetris? Russia? No?

This soft and smooth keyboard from Japan, called the Gokukawa is tightly wrapped in fine black leather. Its just a normal keyboard wrapped up so you cannot see the lettering underneath, but for a little extra you can have them engraved, but beware; the initial cost is about £350 (¥49,800 / $548 USD) And that’s not much compared to how much it will cost to get the Gokukawa Pro (Which has the lettering engraved in the leather): £420 (¥54,800 / $603 USD) – In other words: pick another keyboard!

This thing is just a complete eyesore... but if you MUST have it: GeekStuff4U

BMW-Thermaltake "Level 10" PC Case

In recognition of Thermaltake's 10th year of business they have teamed up with BMW Group Designworks USA to create this stunner.
A prototype aimed at gamers and art fanatics, the futuristic "Level 10" case sees each component housed in its own compartment as opposed to the standard stacked and shelved component housings. Due to debut in early June this case is expected to cost around £400-£550 (560-760 USD). Designworks USA has designed trains, aeroplanes, yachts, speakers and even coffee-makers, all with one main design goal- visual appearance.
